Be the leader you want to be
If leadership is about motivating and inspiring others around a common goal while providing adequate support and resources, why should I worry about whether my organization’s leaders can lead themselves first?
Leaders can be our own worst enemy. In my coaching practice and in my own experience, I’ve noticed four trends that impact leaders’ ability to be the leader they want to be:
- Inner critic
- Blindspots
- Impulsivity
- Emotional dysregulation
We all have mindset challenges that get in our way, and if we don’t provide leaders with adequate resources to support their growth, these challenges ultimately impact recruiting, retention, and the bottom line.
In my experience, a combination of training facilitation and group coaching combined with individual coaching speeds learning and development and helps companies cultivate effective leaders from within.
Training serves to educate leaders on current leadership theory and tools while generating new awareness and insights. Individual coaching supports leaders on their leadership journey by helping them evolve their mindsets and implement new behaviors that help them become the leaders they are meant to be.
